The Circle of Young Economists for Africa is a collective of financial professionals, economic researchers and young graduates in applied economics, passionate about economics whose aim is to collect and analyze information necessary for understanding the economy and decision-making in Africa. The think tank brings together collaborators in several countries in Africa and Europe.

Our mission

From the very beginning, our only mission is to organize scientific debates around topics related to socio-economic development in Africa, and more generally in developing countries.

Our goals

- democratize the economy in order to facilitate understanding for all

- contribute to the battle of ideas, be a crucible of ideas

- make innovative public policy recommendations

- support the decision-making process with factual analyses

A word from the Founder

The global economy has been undergoing profound change for several years. The new normal in the conduct of monetary policy, changes in trade relations, digitalization and the complex interconnections between different economies are all elements that force countries to revise their fundamentals to keep pace with a new world that is taking shape.

This new world requires an inevitable overhaul of economic development models, which must now integrate new societal, demographic and environmental requirements.

In Africa, this is a crucial step in initiating sustainable and more inclusive socio-economic development. This will require a detailed knowledge and a good mastery of the challenges, and above all the contribution of all the actors of the economy, at various levels.

The Circle of Young Economists for Africa, since its inception is already in this spirit through the animation of scientific debates on issues of socio-economic development in Africa, and will maintain this momentum to contribute significantly to the decision support of various actors in the public or private sector.
